It costs about $51,000 a year to provide a CID education for a child 3-12 years old and $12,000 a year for a child under 3. Typically, we collected about 20% of these costs from tuition and service fees. CID turns away no  qualified (d/hoh) school candidate because of a family's financial circumstance.

Named Endowment Funds at CID

Since its founding in 1914, CID has received many generous gifts earmarked to help families afford a listening and spoken language education for their children. Typically, these funds have been named in honor of or in memory of special friends and family members. Often, they are people who have demonstrated a deep commitment to CID and to providing a quality education for children who are deaf and hard of hearing. Proceeds from endowment funds are used to help families unable to pay the full tuition. The funds also support the substantial costs of education not covered by tuition.
