The Language Center at CID FOR HEARING CHILDREN WITH SPEECH AND LANGUAGE DELAYS The Language Center at CID is a small-group program specifically designed for young children with speech and language delays. Led by a licensed speech-language therapist, classes tailor instruction to meet each child's needs while fostering social language and emerging literacy in a dynamic print- and language-rich environment. The Language Center
at CID follows a typical preschool format that is fun and engaging while
continuously targeting speech and language goals.
Classes of 6 children take part in group sessions two or three times a week, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Afternoon sessions may also be available. The program runs year-round. Summer classes start in June. Applicants are assessed by a certified speech-language pathologist and must qualify with a mild to moderate language delay. Program fees are very competitive and are charged monthly. Insurance reimbursement may be possible. At this time, CID scholarship support is not available for the speech and language delay program. For more information or to talk about your child, please contact Andrea Osman, Assessment and Admissions Coordinator at aosman@cid.edu 314.977.0 135.
Since 1914, CID has provided speech and language intervention for young
hearing-impaired children based on extensive research.
Highly trained professionals and small groups, integral to the CID learning
philosophy, are also important to promoting language growth in hearing children with
language delays. |

"Thank you so much for your dedication to and enthusiasm for the children in the language program. There hasn’t been a moment I have been the slightest bit unhappy with you, the program, or CID. Madelyn has thoroughly enjoyed it, which is very important to me since it is her first taste of school. Most importantly, she has made leaps and bounds in her speech. I am amazed at the tremendous improvement. I owe it all to you!" - Jennifer H. St. Louis, Missouri
"[After
one semester,] my son has gone from saying 2-word utterances to 5-word
utterances. He’s putting together sentences with a subject and a verb.
People who knew him just last summer would say he’s a different child in
terms of speech and language.... "I totally trust what Greta and
her staff are doing. I’m pleased with his progress and I feel good about
leaving him in such a positive, nurturing, creative environment." |
