BALLWIN MAN RUNS L.A. MARATHON
TO BENEFIT DEAF STUDENTS AT CID

ST. LOUIS, Missouri, March 19, 2006 —  On Sunday, March 19, 2006, Jamison Phillips of Ballwin, Missouri, ran the Los Angeles Marathon for pledges to benefit school children at Central Institute for the Deaf (CID) in St. Louis. The next day, fresh from his 26.2-mile run, he visited the CID children and brought a check for $641 to help with their educational expenses.

Thanks to Jamison and his friends, and to many donors from the community, CID students receive intensive speech, language, auditory and academic instruction along with a variety of special activities so they will be prepared to participate and succeed in mainstream classrooms alongside children who can hear.

Jamison, a material data specialist at Monsanto, completed the marathon in 3 hours, 47 minutes.
