SIX JOIN CID BOARD OF MANAGERS
ST.
LOUIS, Missouri, February 2006 – Central Institute for the Deaf (CID)
has named Timothy J. Koehl,
David A. Ripes, Arthur L. Scharff and Linda M. Woodruff, SPHR
to its
board of managers.
Robin M. Feder, CFRE,
executive director of CID, announced that each was voted in by the full
board at its winter meeting. In addition, CID named teacher Nancy Barklage, MS, CED CID staff representative and Lesa Thomas, the
mother of a CID student, parent representative on the board.
Timothy Koehl
is a principal responsible for Segment 2 Sales Training
globally for Edward Jones. Koehl joined the firm as an investment
representative in 1987, operating branch offices in Marysville and Eaton,
Ohio. In 1994, he was named regional leader for the firm’s efforts in
southwest Ohio. While in Eaton, he was president of the local Rotary Club,
chairman of the 1-6-9 Board for the Developmentally Disabled, and president
and board member of the United Way. He also served as president of the Eaton
Athletic Boosters Club, as financial chair of the Miami Valley Council, Boy
Scouts of America, and president of the Kenton YMCA. In 1998, Koehl
relocated to Canada to oversee products, services and marketing for Edward
Jones, later becoming responsible for sales training in that country. Koehl
moved with his family to St. Louis in 2005. He is a member of the Financial
Planning Association.
David Ripes
is an assistant vice
president at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where he is in charge of starting a new
initiative marketing fleet management to governmental entities. Ripes began
his career at Enterprise in Southern California 16 years ago as an account
executive in the fleet management division. In 1996, after serving as
regional sales manager, he was promoted to fleet services director and moved
his family to St. Louis. In his current role as head of government
marketing, Ripes is responsible for developing programs and training and for
supporting the field operations focused in this new area. Ripes is a former
member of the board at United Cerebral Palsy of St. Louis.
Arthur Scharff is
the founder and CEO of Presidents' Council, an organization dedicated to
providing corporate leaders with the structure, time and process to become
more effective leaders. Currently, he chairs four such groups in the St.
Louis region. He was a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO),
for which he co-developed the President's Forum (a precursor to the
Presidents' Council), the International Moderator Training Program and the
Forum Officer's Workshop models and for which he chaired the North American
and International Forum programs. He also founded the St. Louis chapter of
the Young Entrepreneurs' Organization (YEO) and co-developed The Essence of
Forum, a guide on how leaders successfully moderate group process. The guide
has been translated into Spanish, French and
Japanese. Scharff is a board member and executive committee
member of Forest Park Forever. He retired as CEO of Smith-Scharff in 2001.
Linda Woodruff is
a human resources professional at Nike IHM, St. Charles with extensive
experience in recruitment and selection, policy development, benefits
administration, employee relations, associate retention, conflict resolution
and management counseling. Before joining Nike in 2005, she was a senior
recruiter for MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc. and a human resources manager
for Samsung America Inc., Watts Anderson Burrows and Sanyo Fisher
Company.
